Chastleton House

July 27, 2011

Top – Gap
Skirt – Topshop
Belt, bag and hat – vintage/thrifted
Shoes – Heaven Vintage
Necklace – We Never Sleep

We (boyfriend and I) went National Trusting again today, this time to Chastleton House. Unfortunately there was no photography allowed inside so you’ll just have to believe me when I say that it was very grand and rather beautifully furnished. We took these photos in the gardens afterward.

These shoes are my first purchase with my store credit for Heaven Vintage – Angela is paying me in vintage for the work I’m doing on her website. Best. Job. Ever.

Photos by Ian/myself.

*hyperventilating* I want that backpack now! Lolz. I love the color of it; so chic and sophisticated. Anywho, I like the rest of your outfit, especially your pointy flats. Also, I’m jelly that you’re getting paid in vintage clothing! Ah! Almost as cool as getting paid in gum. Haha.

Rucksack is brilliant, though it has made me think that maybe I ought to have gotten a large D&B rather than a medium-sized one. I hate it when museums/homes don’t let you take photos!

I really love the color scheme of this post. And! your beige top. It goes so perfectly with that red skirt. Beige can be completely under appreciated.

Sure sounds like the best job ever!! Yesterday I got to choose paintings from my grand fathers storage room. It was like heaven to me. He’s been working as a painter/artist all of his life so there was A LOT to choose from. Picked five. If I had lived in a mansion I would have taken fifty…

Oh wow, gorgeous! I can only imagine what the inside looks like. I really love your style. . . vintage, with a modern twist and a bit masculine pieces to balance it all out. Definitely an influence on my personal style! And that backpack? Perfect.

Your bag is absolutely lovely! I wish I had one like it, as this summer I’m going to Ireland with my three friends (one of which has a house there) and to my utmost delight you can only travel by bicycle or horseback, so my usual leather satchels and bags are quite pointless. I do have a satchel which is worn on the back, from the Cambridge satchel company, but it is rather small and not suited for heavy shopping being shipped from shop to cottage across boggy ground.
I love your blog. My friend and I actually dress in a very similar style to you, and have only just discovered it. We often go to places just like this. Unfortunately we live in ugly old London, and our longings for the countryside remain unfilled. There is one small stall in my local area filled with very cheap junk cleared from houses, from which I have recently bought a copper kettle, a toasting fork and two adorable old fashioned suitcases, one of which once belonged to a doctor and had an old fashioned fountain pen in it. What fun!
